Solution #00005989

Scope:
All Barracuda Backup Servers, all firmware versions.

Answer:

In SQL environments that use the Active/Passive deployment for Microsoft SQL, the Barracuda Backup agent must be installed on any cluster node in the cluster group. Once the agent is setup, you can add the cluster to your Barracuda Backup Server:

1. Add a new computer in the Barracuda interface. It will ask for the Computer Description and Computer Name.  In the computer name box enter the cluster IP address. (You can get the cluster IP address by going to Cluster Administrator (Windows 2003) or Failover Cluster Manager (Windows 2008) on one of the servers in the cluster under groups you will see the cluster you wish to back up the IP address of the cluster will be displayed in the Cluster IP address section.)

2. Once the correct information is added go to the next screen and test software connectivity. The system will query the agent on the active server.  You will now be able to select the databases you wish to back up on the Barracuda Backup Server.

3. If the cluster moves from one server to the other server, Barracuda will follow the database and will backup via the active server.
