Barracuda Reference / FAQ

What should I do when the System or CPU Fan shows 0 RPM or oscillates drastically on the status page of my Barracuda Networks product?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 10 months ago
Solution #00001810 Scope: All Products, all firmware versions. Answer: If you see incredible fan rotation speeds on the Basic > Status page (e.g., 0 RPMs at one moment, and 131,000 RPMs at another), the fan may be malfunctioning. In other instances, the sensor may be having a problem and Barracuda Technical Support member may be able to help. Whenever you experience oscillation, contact Barracuda Technical Support immediately. In worst case scenarios where the fan itself has broken, we can make arrangements for a fan replacement.
