Scope:
All Barracuda Networks products, all firmware versions.
Answer:
MDaemon/LDaemon is a windows mail server which uses an NT based implementation of OpenLDAP. Configuring a Barracuda Networks product with an MDaemon server can be problematic because the information stored in the configuration files may be quite different from what the LDAP Options GUI screen displays. Instead, the correct settings to input into the Barracuda Networks product will be found in the slapd.conf file. This is usually found in the C:\MDaemon\LDaemon directory.
OpenLDAP permits anonymous binding, so a Bind DN and password are not necessary.
A typical MDaemon setup:
Bind DN (Username): <Blank>
Bind Password: <Blank>
LDAP Search Base: o=<Domain>,c=us
LDAP UID: cn
LDAP Primary Email Attribute: mail
