Does Barracuda Networks erase disk drives of returned systems?

This solution applies to all Barracuda Networks products that have been returned through the RMA, upgrade process, or by other means.


When systems are returned to Barracuda Networks, our manufacturing department erases all incoming disk drives, conforming to the United States Department of Defense Standard (DoD 5220.22-M).

The software running on our drive erasure arrays is WipeDrive Pro v5, which is not only in use by the US Department of Defense, but is also an approved compliance wipe disk tool for the HIPAA act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, The Patriot Act and the Identify Theft and Assumption Deterrence Act. Barracuda also uses a Garner HD-2 Data Elimination Degaussing System to handle the data elimination of dead drives.
