Solution #00004521
Scope:
This solution applies to all Barracuda Virtual Appliances.
Answer:
Virtual machine environments generally provide a 'snapshot' capability, which captures the state of a system as it is running. Once a snapshot is created, the system can be modified safely since it can always be recovered to the last known stable state by reverting to the snapshot.
We highly recommend performing a snapshot at certain points in time:
- Before upgrading Firmware.
- Before making major configuration changes to your configuration
- After completing and confirming a large set of changes such as initial configuration.
- As a periodic backup mechanism.
Please review your virtual environment's documentation regarding 'snapshot' capabilities.
