The Search page is the main search utility in the Barracuda Cloud Archiving Service. When the page is first brought up, all messages accessible by your account display (if the system administrator has enabled this Search page setting). You can browse through all messages from this list, or perform a search to locate a specific subset of messages.
Only administrators have access to, and can perform searches across, all archived messages. Auditors and users can search through all archived messages to which they have been granted access by the administrator.
New enhancements include:
Lists and tags are now always visible on the Search page.
A new advanced filter search button has been added to the search bar field to specify criteria.
Display Appearance
The Search page is divided into two panes. The Message List is by default in the left pane, containing various details of the messages, and the Preview Pane is on the right side, where you can view the contents of a message.
Click on a message in the Message List to view it in the Preview Pane.
Click the table icon in the toolbar to select the table columns to view.
Click the preview icon in the toolbar to select the preview pane location.

Search Modes

Searches are performed across only the messages in the Barracuda Cloud Archiving Service to which you have access. Partial, or substring, matches are not supported, and all searches are case sensitive.
Basic Search
This search mode allows for simple, all-in-one message searching.
Basic Search Usage
Type a word or phrase in the box, and then click Search. The entered text is looked for in the message body and selected headers (From, To, Cc, Bcc, Subject), as well as inside attachments, of all messages accessible by your account. All search terms for Basic Search must be in one of the following formats: Text-based, Multi-Text, Proximity-based, Fuzzy-based, Wildcards, or Domain-based.
For more information, see Search Strings and Keyword Expressions.
Advanced Filter Search
The new advanced filter search button allows you to perform searches through all or just one of the different types of items that are archived, such as Tasks, Appointments and Distribution Lists, in addition to Email. You can perform each of these searches against various attributes of the item selected, such as message contents and/or time period for searches through Emails; location and attendees for searches through Appointments; and members for searches through Distribution Lists. You can save any search you create from the advanced filter search page for repeated execution at a later time. Saved searches are also required when creating Policy Alerts.

PST Files
The PSTs & Tags panel provides an additional, built-in filter for searching through items in the Barracuda Cloud Archiving Service. Searches can be limited to just the items that have been Tagged, or were imported from a .pst file.
All imported .pst files must be manually assigned to an account before its contents can be accessed by that account. Only one account can be assigned to every .pst file, but multiple .pst files can be assigned to any account.
Note: Although the entire contents of the PST file are uploaded, if the file is assigned to a user account, then only those items that contain the account's email address or alias in the list of recipients, senders or owners will appear in search results for the user. However, the user can browse all items in the assigned PST by clicking on the PST or one of its subfolders.

Tag Messages
Tag messages to easily identify any messages for future use. Tags can be any text, and can be accessed only by the account that created them.
To create a new tag, click the + next to Tags, enter a new name, and Save.
To tag one or more messages, execute a search in the Search page, and select the desired item(s) from the message list. Click on Tools located at the top of the message list, and select the desired Tag action. A pop-up dialog prompts you for the tag text. Tags can then be used as search criteria, allowing you to easily retrieve these messages at a later time:
Tag All - All messages currently in the message list are tagged. When this option is selected, a pop-up appears prompting you for the text with which to tag the messages. Caution: The untag action causes all existing Tags on the selected messages to be removed.
Tag Selected – Only the messages that have been selected in the message list are tagged. When this option is selected, a pop-up prompts you for the text with which to tag the messages.
Search with Tags or .pst Files
A search can be done that is limited to just the items that have particular Tags, or reside in specific folders of a .pst file. To do so, make sure that the desired Tags or .pst files are selected in the panel on the left prior to initiating the search.
