How to Create SC Firewall Rules

SC firewall rules can only be configured via the Secure Connector Editor on the Control Center. To allow traffic between two zones, you must create two rules with the source and destination zones interchanged.

In this article:

Create an SC Firewall Rule

  1. Go to your Cluster > Cluster Settings > Secure Connector Editor.
  2. Click Lock.
  3. Double-click to edit the device or template.
  4. In the left menu, click Firewall Settings.
  5. (Template only) Enable the check box for Firewall Rules. Any existing firewall rules on SCs using this template will be overwritten.
  6. Click + to add a Firewall Rule. The Firewall Rules windows opens.

  7. Enter a Name and click OK.
  8. Configure the firewall rule:
    • Action – Select ACCEPT or BLOCK.
    • Source Zone – Select the firewall zone associated with the source IP address of the connection.
    • Destination Zone – Select the firewall zone associated with the destination IP address of the connection.
  9. (optional) Enter a Description.
  10. (optional) In the Exception list, click + and enter an IP address the rule should not match for.

  11. Click OK.
  12. Click OK and Activate.

Delete an SC Firewall Rule

  1. Go to your Cluster > Cluster Settings > Secure Connector Editor.
  2. Click Lock.
  3. Double-click to edit the device or template.
  4. In the left menu, click Firewall Settings.
  5. Select the firewall rule you want to delete in the Firewall Rules, Firewall Management, Source NAT, or Destination NAT lists.
  6. Click delete_icon.png.
  7. Click OK and Activate.
