How to Configure NGF Local Authentication

  • Last updated on

If you do not have an external authentication service available, you can create and maintain a list of local users and groups on the CloudGen Firewall. You can refer to these users and groups when creating firewall rules, VPN tunnels, or when configuring the captive portal.

Configure NGF Local Authentication

  1. Go to USERS > Local Authentication.
  2. In the Local Users and Groups table, configure the following settings for each user:
    • Username Log-in name for the user.
    • Password The user's password.
    • Group Name of the user group this user belongs to.

Ensure that you enter the correct group names. If you misspell a group name (e.g., tst instead of test), a new group is created and permissions are not applied correctly to the group.

  3. Click Add.
  4. Click Save.
