Barracuda CloudGen Firewall

Deployment

  • Last updated on

The CloudGen Firewall is available in multiple hardware models that meet different networking requirements. Throughput increases with the size of the firewall; some models come equipped with added features such as integrated Wi-Fi, an 8-port switch, or a WWAN modem.

Hardware models are periodically updated. When a new model is released, it is referred to as a new revision. Thus, the second version of the F280 is released as F280 Revision B. The sticker you find on the back of your model includes information on your model's revision. E.g., Rev.C BAR-NG-123456. Also note that when a new revision is launched, the preceding revision is phased out.

For more information, see Hardware Deployment Guide.

Public Cloud

The Barracuda CloudGen Firewall is available in the Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and VMware vCloud Air public clouds. There are two types of disk images available: Bring-Your-Own-License (BYOL) and an hourly rate (PAYG). AWS and Azure support both disk image types, Google Cloud and vCloud Air do only support BYOL. Performance is limited only by the number of licensed CPU cores and the performance of the underlying cloud instances. Firewall VMs in vCloud Air use the same licensing model as the virtual CloudGen Firewalls on VMware hypervisors.

For more information, see Public Cloud.
