Scope:
This solution replies to:
- NG Firewall firmware versions 4.2.x, 5.0.x, 5.2.x
- netfence firmware versions 4.2.x

 
Symptoms:
Antivir-service reports "Max. workers (30) limit hit" in cas-log and clients receive ICAP-errors.

 
Solution:
Antivir-service has a predefined worker-limit of 30 workers. If 30 worker-processes are used and an additional scan-request should be processed, the antivir-service blocks this request with an ICAP-error is displayed at the client.

Configure your antivir-workers regarding your requirements. The accurate field is "Config" > "<virtual-server>" > "<antivir-service>" > "Virus Scanner Settings" > "Basic Setup" > "Max. Num Workers".
