Barracuda NG Access Client displays "phionHADlg.exe" with error code 0x0000142 continuously

- NG Network Access Client versions 2.0-SPx


When using NG Access Client 2.0-SPx in WindowsXP, some installations displays continuously an error popup with the following "phionHADlg.exe" and error code "0x0000142" message.


The problem is located at the operating system itself. Microsoft has described the issue in their knowledge base .

Barracuda Networks provide a workaround for this issue. It is possible to disable the process entry in the Microsoft Event monitor by disabling the "Process Monitor" for the NG Access Client.

This could be done via this DWORD registry entry:
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Phion\phionvpn\settings\ProcessMonitor set to value "0"

After a restart of the computer, the error should not appear again for the Barracuda NG Access Client processes.
