How to Connect to Your Microsoft Tenant

  • Last updated on

Your global administrator account credentials will only be used to for the initial connection to authorize the application process to your Microsoft environment and will not be saved by Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup. The global administrator can be removed or changed back to a normal administrator after the connection is successful.

Choose Your Storage Location

Customers may have distinct requirements around protecting their data and information and may be required to comply with a specific country’s laws and regulations. Therefore, Barracuda Networks recommends customers to select the region that will work best for their organization when setting up Cloud-to-Cloud Backup.

For Cloud-to-Cloud Backup available regions, see Available Locations.

Add a New Connection

If necessary, you can create multiple connections for each available data source.

  1. Log into https://login.barracudanetworks.com/. If you are not automatically forwarded to the Cloud-to-Cloud Backup application, select Cloud-to-Cloud Backup from the left pane.
  2. Navigate to the Products page from the top navigation menu, hover over the product tile you want to connect to, and click ADD CONNECTION.

During the release of Entra ID Backup, as an existing customer for Cloud-to-Cloud Backup protecting Microsoft 365, Barracuda Networks attempted to automatically enable Entra ID backup for your account.

If the button on the Entra ID Backup Product tile shows ADD CONNECTION, Entra ID has already been activated and you can begin to use it immediately by creating a connection. However, if you see an ACTIVATE button on this tile, contact your authorized partner or Barracuda Networks Technical Support for assistance.

  3. Log in with a global admin account to give permissions to the application to access your Microsoft data.

You will need to use a Microsoft global administrator account to connect your Microsoft account to Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup. If you are having issues connecting, please ensure that the user is explicitly granted the role of Global Administrator and does not have inherited privileges via group membership or Privileged Identity Management (PIM). For more information, see Microsoft article About admin roles

  4. Check the Consent on behalf of your organization box. Click Accept.

For Entra ID, you will be redirected to the Products page.
  7. To see all configured connections, go to the Products page, under Connections.

Using the Connection Switcher

You can manage multiple tenant connections in a single instance of Cloud-to-Cloud Backup.

Note that the connection switcher only supports multiple connections in the same Azure region currently.

Switch Connections

To select one of your configured connections in Cloud-to-Cloud Backup, click on the upper left drop-down menu and select the desired connection.

You will see "No Connections" if there are no tenants connected to Cloud-to-Cloud Backup.
