Why is the RAID array on my Barracuda Spam Firewall spontaneously rebuilding?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 3 years ago
Solution #00001440

Scope:
Barracuda Spam Firewall models 400s and higher.

Answer:
The Barracuda Spam Firewall may automatically rebuild its RAID array if it notices unit degradation.

Part of the reboot process involves inspection of the RAID configuration. If a unit has failed, the disk will begin rebuild as quickly as possible. If you're unaware that your system has rebooted, it's plausible that a power surge has occurred at your server site, prompting a reboot.
