What can I do if a virus gets through my Email Security Gateway?

Scope:
All Email Security Gateways, all firmware versions.

Answer:
If you believe a virus has slipped past your Email Security Gateway, you can submit it to Barracuda Central for analysis by following these steps:
  1. Locate the suspect email on the Basic > Message Log page of the Email Security Gateway and find the ID for the suspect email. See below if you need help locating the ID.
  2. Open a support connection to your Email Security Gateway. 
  3. Contact a Barracuda Networks Support Engineer and provide them with the Debug-ID access to the Email Security Gateway.
Additional Notes:
There are two methods you can use to locate the ID of a particular message.
  1. From the Basic > Message Log page, click on the suspect email to open the Barracuda Message Detail pop-up window. The ID field will appear above the message content area, and will look like the following example:

    ID: 1174519508-26f600010000-K1VHEG

  2. From the mail server or user's email client, look in that email's headers and locate the "Debug-ID" header line. It will look like the following example:

    X-ASG-Debug-ID: 1174579950-645a00120000-VP7UQX
