Why is the mail/log storage of my Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewall at exactly 75%?

Solution #00003040

Scope:
All Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewalls, firmware versions 3.5 and above.

Answer:
In firmware versions 3.5 and above, the Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewall will store email until it reaches 75% capacity. After the mail/log storage reaches 75%, the Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewall will automatically remove emails from the message log to make room for new messages. The Barracuda Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewall will retain the meta information (to, from, subject, etc.) but it will not store the body of the email or any attachments once that email has been removed.

Note: Due to this process, the message log retention for customers will generally never be longer than 6 months.
