How should I configure my Barracuda Networks product to work with my syslog server?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 3 years ago
Solution #00003061

Scope:
All Barracuda Networks products (models 300 and above) excluding Barracuda Link Balancers, all firmware versions.

Answer:
Go to the Advanced > Advanced Networking page > Syslog section of your Barracuda product's WebUI (User Interface). Then, once there, enter the IP address of your syslog server to log the information described by the heading of that list. For instance, if you wanted to log Web user interface changes, you would add your syslog server's IP address to the Web User Interface Syslog Configuration IP list. The Barracuda will use port 514 UDP to communicate with any syslog servers you specify in this way.

Additional Notes:
For more information on the Syslog feature of the Barracuda Spam Firewall (firmware versions 3.4 and above), you can go to the documentation section of our Web site (http://www.barracuda.com/documentation) and read the Syslog and the Barracuda Spam Firewall guide.
