How can I retrieve email headers from Outlook 2010 for use with my Barracuda Spam Firewall?

Scope:
This solution applies to the Barracuda Spam Firewall, regarding retrieving headers in Outlook 2010.

Answer:

By default, the ability to select Options from the Tools menu is not available in Outlook 2010. To view headers in Outlook 2010, open the email you wish to view the headers for, then click the “File” menu, then select the “Properties” button and a new window will open and it will display the message headers.

Alternatively, you can add a Shortcut (No Opening of Email). To do this, click the “down arrow” at the top of the “Quick Access Toolbar” (ribbon) and select “More Commands”. Change the drop down box to “All Commands”, locate and select “Message Options” then click “Add”.

Finally select the email you wish to view and select the “Message Options” icon which now appears on the Quick Access Toolbar and the message headers are displayed. These headers may be required for additional troubleshooting of mail flow.
