Barracuda Email Security Gateway

Why should I remove NJABL or AHBL as an external RBL?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 3 years ago

Solution #00006288

Scope:
All Barracuda Spam Firewalls

Answer:

On March 1st, 2013, NJABL or AHBL announced that they will be shutting down their IP reputation service. Customers should remove NJABL or AHBL lists from the Custom External RBLs option on their Barracuda Spam Firewalls. Custom External RBLs can be added or removed from the BLOCK/ACCEPT->IP Reputation tab. Using NJABL or AHBL reputation lists on the Barracuda Spam Firewall will result in increased latency when processing email.

NJABL lists include:
  1. dnsbl.njabl.org
  2. dynablock.njabl.org
  3. combined.njabl.org
  4. bhnc.njabl.org

rhsbl.ahbl.org, dnsbl.ahbl.org, ircbl.ahbl.org.
