Why am I seeing email blocked for URLBL_BC or URLBL_FROM_BC?

Solution # 00006764

All Barracuda Spam Firewalls, all firmware versions.

Sometimes, you may observe a legitimate message that is blocked for Score of at least 5 or greater. If you review the headers of the email message, you will observe this rule line: 5.0 URLBL_BC. It should be accompanied with a bracket below it that indicates what URL was found to cause a hit.

[URL: gva.es]

This rule is triggered due to a domain being identified in the email that is currently listed on the 3rd party URIBL blacklist located via:http://www.uribl.com/. If you observe this and want to dispute it, you must go to the URIBL website and request the URL is de-listed.

There have been cases reported where poorly formatted emails may cause a parsing issue which leads to a false positive. The sending client side would need to fix this formatting issue for it to come through properly.

Example where a Sam's Club.com email had a line break after ' so it came out as "sclub.com"

[URL: sclub.com]
