Barracuda Link Balancer

How is my LAN IP used in the Link Balancer with the built in firewall enabled vs. disabled?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 8 months ago
Solution #00004108

Scope:
All Barracuda Link Balancer models, firmware version 1.1 and above

Answer:
Use the LAN IP Configuration section on the Basic > IP configuration page to view or change the LAN IP address for the Barracuda Link Balancer.

If the Barracuda Link Balancer firewall is disabled:
  • The LAN IP address is used only for management.
  • The LAN IP address must be on a different subnet than the LAN IP addresses already on your network. Otherwise, your firewall will not pass any request to that address to its outside interface.
If the Barracuda Link Balancer firewall is enabled:
  • The LAN IP address is the default gateway for your network.
