Creating a User Account

All users are created with multi-factor authentication.

All new users require a unique email address, and for that email address to be verified. New users cannot log in until they verify their email address.

  • Because email address verification is required, the SMTP server for Service Center must be set up before you can create users.
  • Multiple email addresses can no longer be used.


  1. In Service Center, click Configuration > Users & Roles > User Management.
  2. Click Create User.
  3. In the User Name box, type the login name for the user.

    This is the name the user needs to log into Barracuda RMM. It cannot be changed after you create a user account. You could delete the user account and create it again to change the name.

  4. In the First Name box, type the first name of the user.
  5. In the Last Name box, type the last name of the user.
  6. In the Password box, type a password for the account.
  7. In the Confirm Password box, type the account password again.
  8. In the Email box, type the email address for the user.
    This is the email address where email alerts are sent, if applicable.   Until  the user authenticates the email, a caution symbol expired.png is displayed in the  Email column on the Configuration > Users & Roles > User Management page.

    Two user accounts cannot have the same email address. One account cannot have multiple email addresses.

  9. Ensure the Account is Disabled check box is cleared.
  10. Click Save.
  11. Click the Profile tab.
  12. Optionally, click Send Validation Email to send the user a validation link to the email in the Email box.

    If you do not click Send Validation Email at this time, a validation email is sent when you save the user.

  13. Optionally, in the Mobile Phone Country field, select the country of the user.
  14. Optionally, in the Mobile Phone Number field, type the user’s mobile phone number, without the country code.
