The Network Objects tab provides a list of all SNMP OIDs that are available for monitoring. Additional SNMP OIDs can be added here, or any that are not in use can be removed.
There are two types of MIBs: scalar and tabular. Scalar objects define a single object instance whereas tabular objects define multiple related object instances grouped in MIB tables. You can choose to collect tabular OIDs.
You can create a tabular monitor for a known base OID, and Barracuda RMM automatically creates monitors for all elements within that table.
You have two options for removing SNMP OIDs from the Service Center database:
If you have a single SNMP OID that you want to remove, you can identify it and delete it manually. See To remove an SNMP OID from the Service Center database manually below.
If you want to remove multiple SNMP OIDs at the same time, or suspect there is at least one SNMP OID that is unused, but don’t know for certain, you can let Service Center find and remove all unused SNMP OIDs. See To remove all unused SNMP OIDs from the Service Center database below.
To add an SNMP OID to the Service Center database manually
- In Service Center, click Configuration > SystemSettings.
- Click the Network Objects tab.
- In the SNMP OIDs section, click Add.
- Type the Object Name.
- Type the OID.
- From the Object Type list, select either Numeric or Text.
- To collect tabular OIDs, select the Tabular check box.
- If desired, in the Description box, type a description of the OID.
- Click OK.
To remove an SNMP OID from the Service Center database manually
An SNMP OID cannot be removed if it is used by any monitoring rule.
- In Service Center, click Configuration > System Settings.
- Click the Network Objects tab.
- Select the check box beside the SNMP OID you want to delete.
- In the SNMP OIDs section, click Delete.
Removed SNMP OIDs are no longer available for monitoring, but the historical information will still be available for reporting.
To remove all unused SNMP OIDs from the Service Center database
This procedure removes all SNMP OIDs that are not used by any monitoring rule.
- In Service Center, click Configuration > System Settings.
- Click the Network Objects tab.
- Select the check box beside the SNMP OID you want to delete.
- In the SNMP OIDs section, click Delete Unused.
Removed SNMP OIDs are no longer available for monitoring, but the historical information will still be available for reporting.
