Understanding the Barracuda Message Archiver's Dual Network Interface Cards

  • Last updated on

This article refers to Barracuda Message Archiver models 650 and higher.

The Barracuda Message Archiver model 650 and higher contains two network interface cards (NICs) that you can place on separate networks. For example, you may want to isolate mail server traffic from web traffic. In this case, you can configure the two interfaces with two different addresses: the primary interface on the web network and the secondary interface on the mail network.

The secondary network interface can be configured on the ADVANCED > Advanced Networking page in the Multiple IP Address Configuration section.

.

Note that you cannot team, i.e., add, the NICs together.
