How can I set up my Barracuda Message Archiver to work with Asian Languages?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 11 years ago
Solution #00003585

Scope:
All Barracuda Message Archivers that archive emails in Asian languages (Chinese, Japanese and Korean), firmware versions 1.2.1.004 and higher.

Answer:
Since the tokenization (the breakup of sentences in words and phrases) of words in the above specified languages varies significantly from English, the search engine used in Barracuda Message Archiver needs a different 'Analyzer'. The standard analyzer will not be able to tokenize words in Chinese, Japanese and Korean. A special analyzer, known as the CJKAnalyzer, is shipped with the Barracuda Message Archiver. A Barracuda Networks Technical Support representative can log into your Barracuda Message Archiver and make this switch for you.
