Barracuda Message Archiver

How do I allow access via SMB to PST/ZIP exports created by the admin user on my Barracuda Message Archiver?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: one year ago

Solution #00004903

Scope:

Applies to all Barracuda Message Archivers, firmware version 2.2 and above.

Answer:

Beginning in Barracuda Message Archiver firmware version 2.2, the administrator has the ability to allow access to exports executed by the admin user from their Barracuda Message Archiver via SMB. You can set access to this share under Basic > Administration. You can enable it by setting the proper options under the SMB Export Options heading. Enable Local SMB Share is for enabling this option. You can also restrict access to it by enabling Restrict Access to SMB Share and setting a password under SMB Password option. The account name to use for authentication would be smbpickup.

The URL to use to access the exports would be:

\\<barracuda_IP>\BarracudaMessageArchiverSmbPickup

If prompted for authentication, use smbpickup as username, and the password which was set in UI by administrator.
