Scope:
Barracuda Message Archivers purchased prior to September 30th, 2009.

Answer:


In an ongoing effort to provide high quality products and services, Barracuda Networks will be ending support of older models of the Barracuda Message Archiver running firmware releases 3.1 and earlier. Customers who purchased Barracuda Message Archiver units to prior to September 30th, 2009 and who have not replaced their original units should contact the Barracuda Networks Technical Support Team to determine if their units must be replaced to ensure compatibility with ongoing firmware releases. 


All customers of older units are encouraged to take advantage of the Hardware Refresh program described at: https://www.barracudanetworks.com/support/refresh.


Customers of older units will continue to be supported under the following terms:


  • Barracuda Networks will provide maintenance fixes to correct defects for Barracuda Message Archiver firmware release 3.1 to existing customers with active Energize Updates subscriptions until September 30th 2013.  No new features or enhancements will be made for legacy firmware versions (version 3.1 or earlier).
  • Barracuda Networks will continue to provide ongoing telephone technical support to existing customers with active Energize Updates subscriptions until September 30th 2014.  Any prepaid remaining time period under an active support subscription may be applied towards replacement Barracuda Message Archiver units running later firmware releases, as appropriate.  Only account credits will be provided and no cash refunds will be given.
  • Customers wishing to upgrade to the latest hardware may review our Hardware Refresh program listed  here: https://www.barracuda.com/support/refresh
  • Barracuda Networks will continue to provide replacements of defective units under the terms of the Instant Replacement subscriptions and hardware warranties through the end of the warranty or subscription period. The replacement units will ship with the current manufacturing firmware release and operating system platform at time of shipment.
