The Infrastructure tab on the SecureEdge Manager provides an overview of all deployed and connected Edge Services, Sites, Connectors, and IoT devices, and lets you configure network settings and manage your connections. For instructions on how to set up the basic configuration in Barracuda SecureEdge, see Getting Started.
Edge Services
Barracuda SecureEdge offers a range of Edge Services to organizations with the aim of enhancing their network security and simplifying their mode of operation. You can navigate to the infrastructure configuration and add Edge Services and Sites. The following types of Edge Services are available:
Edge Service (hosted) – The Software-as-a-Service approach is deployed via a fully managed SaaS service, provisioned by Barracuda Networks, and can be licensed in 50 Mbit increments up to 1 Gbit. You must first activate the Edge Service using an activation key. For more information on the product activation process, see How to Activate the Edge Service and SecureEdge Access Using an Activation Key.
Private Edge Service – The Private Edge Service can be used for hybrid deployments. For example, on different locations, both on-premises and in the cloud, you require features such as Firewall-as-a-Service and SD-WAN functionality to establish a secure connection from your sites and devices. For a private deployment or an on-premises deployment of the Edge Service, a SecureEdge Site device can be promoted to be a Private Edge Service. A Site device, either hardware or virtual, is required for such a setup.
Edge Service for Virtual WAN – Edge Service for Virtual WAN is deployed in an Azure-integrated deployment. As a cloud platform, it connects and secures any type of edge device. It provides optimal security and SD-WAN functionality to connect all your locations to the Microsoft Global Network via Azure Virtual WAN.
In the Barracuda SecureEdge user interface, you can easily switch between the virtual WANs and display associated Edge Services and connected sites by clicking on the name assigned to the virtual WAN during deployment.

Sites T/VT
Barracuda SecureEdge offers hardware and virtual solutions to meet a wide range of networking requirements, ranging from small and home offices up to large data centers. With the SecureEdge VTx, you can run hypervisors that integrate effortlessly with your existing network and server infrastructure. The SecureEdge site appliances have been specially designed to protect and connect your network infrastructure. You can navigate to the infrastructure configuration and add sites. The main advantages of using a SecureEdge Site device are as follows:
It can act as a stand-alone Firewall, SD-WAN device, Secure Web Gateway, ZTNA device, or cloud on-ramp device to a SecureEdge Service - or a combination of any of these.
It can be easily configured or promoted to provide Private Edge Services.

Other Deployments
In addition, the SecureEdge Manager via the Integration tab allows administrators to deploy and connect other infrastructure, such as CloudGen Firewalls, Azure Log Analytics, Barracuda XDR, and IPsec VPN, to Barracuda SecureEdge. Barracuda CloudGen Firewall appliances can be enrolled with Barracuda SecureEdge as a point of enforcement for resource access policies. The firewall appliances can be either stand-alone or Control Center-managed units.
