The process of verifying links in email requires those links to be “clicked.” This can be confusing and unwanted by some organizations. Here are a few situations in which extra link clicks can be undesireable:
Email sent to test employees' ability to recognize potentially malicious content. A link click in such a message suggests that an employee failed the test.
Links to a company website where web traffic statistics are collected.
Email ticketing systems in which a link click can create a customer inquiry ticket or task.
Preventing Unwanted Clicks in Email
Follow the steps in How to Allow Senders to prevent link clicks in all email from the allowed senders.
Exempting Barracuda Networks' IP Addresses
Previously, exempting a few IP addresses used by Barracuda Networks was enough to ensure that no unwanted link clicks occurred. This is no longer the case. Please add senders to the allow list to prevent Impersonation Protection and Incident Response from clicking links in email from allowed senders. Note: links in those email messages will not be checked by Impersonation Protection or Incident Response.
