Solution #00003953

Scope:
Applies to Barracuda Web Application Firewall, all firmware versions.

Answer:
You can modify the default response page or add a customized response page
for HTTP requests that violate security policies. By default the Barracuda Web Application Firewall returns the error “The specified URL cannot be found.” when an HTTP security policy is violated.

Customizing the Default HTML Response Page

  1. From the ADVANCED > Libraries, Response Pages section, click Edit next to the Default Response Page.
  2. Edit the HTTP status code, Response Headers, and Response Body settings as required.
  3. Click Save Changes.

Redirecting the Response to a Specified URL

  1. From the SECURITY POLICIES > Action Policy page, click Edit next to the Attack Action to be modified.
  2. Set the Deny Response parameter to Redirect.
  3. Add the URL the client should be redirected to if the request is denied.

Applying a Custom Response Page to a Specific Action

  1. From the ADVANCED > Libraries, Response Pages section, click Add to create a Custom Response Page.
  2. From the SECURITY POLICIES > Action Policy page, click Edit next to the Attack Action to be modified.
  3. Select the Customized Response Page to be used if the request is denied.
