Why am I unable to login to my Barracuda Web Application Firewall using my LDAP credentials after changing the bind username or password?

This solution applies to the Barracuda Web Application Firewall, firmware version 7.3 and higher.

This behavior can be observed if a user changes the bind username and password under the LDAP authentication, and saves changes. After this change, users will not be able to authenticate and log in to the device because of junk characters inserted into the LDAP Group Filter.

Log in to the box and navigate to "ADVANCED > Admin Access Control > External Authentication Services" and edit the LDAP server configured there:

Now, in the new window, a Group Filter value will be shown as below :


We need to change the Group Filter value to:


and save changes. Now users will be able to authenticate and log in to the device using LDAP credentials.
