Barracuda Web Application Firewall, all firmware versions

Answer:

The 'Protected filed' indicates whether the request passed through the checks when the Barracuda Web Application Firewall is in active or passive mode.

Protected field in access logs has 3 values: 

- If web firewall for this service is disable or Global ACL rule is set to ‘Allow’, then the value is "UNPROTECTED".
- If the mode of the application is passive , then the value is “PASSIVE”
- If the mode of the application is active then the value is "PROTECTED"
