How to Clear the HSTS Cache or Disable HSTS for Firefox

Option 1: Clear any cached HSTS hints from the Firefox browser

1. Launch Firefox, and under the History menu, click on Clear Recent History...
2. In the pop-up dialog, set Time range to clear to Everything.
3. Check Site Preferences.
4. Click Clear Now.

Option 2: Clear any cached HSTS hints by editing the user profile

1. Quit the Firefox application if it is running.
2. Find the desired user profile folder (see below *).
3. Open the file SiteSecurityServiceState.txt in a text editor.
4. Remove lines marked HSTS to remove them from the cache.
5. Save the changes.

Option 3: Disable the HSTS setting from the Firefox browser

1. Launch Firefox, and type "about:config" in the address bar.
2. Search for hsts and find the setting labeled security.mixed_content.use_hstsc.
3. Double-click the field to toggle the setting.

Option 4: Disable the HSTS setting by editing the user profile

1. Quit the Firefox application if it is running.
2. Find the desired user profile folder (see below *).
3. Open the file prefs.js in a text editor.
4. Add the following lines:
     user_pref("security.mixed_content.send_hsts_priming", false);
     user_pref("security.mixed_content.use_hsts", false);

 

In Windows, user profiles are stored in:
C:\Users*\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
C:\Users*\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

On the Macintosh, user profiles are stored in:
/Users/*/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles
