Why don't my users see a block page when blocked by my Barracuda Web Filter? How can I change the local redirect address from 172.27.72.27 to something else?

Solution #00002438

Scope:
All Barracuda Web Filters, all firmware versions.

Answer:
The local redirect IP address is the address used for local block and login pages as well as the cleanup tool. If users are unable to load the block page, you may need to change the Barracuda's local redirect IP address from 172.27.72.27 to another IP.

Note: As of web filter firmware 6.0, you cannot set the redirect IP address to be the web filters own IP as IP blocks would not work in proxied environments.

You can do so using the web interface of the Barracuda Web Filter, but only with the assistance of a Barracuda Support representative. By contacting Barracuda Support, you can quickly get assistance in working with these settings.
