Barracuda Web Security Gateway

How do I configure my Barracuda Web Filter to support NTLM and AD user authentication at the same time?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 2 years ago

Solution #00004048

Scope:

All Barracuda Web Filters, version 4.2 or higher.

Answer:

The following requirements must be met for the Barracuda Web Filter to support Kerberos/NTLM and Active Directory authentication simultaneously.

  • Active Directory and Kerberos/NTLM should be configured on your Window's Server.
  • On Firmware previous of 7.X, Enable Hybrid Mode on the Users/Groups > Configuration page of the web interface. Click Save Changes when done.
  • Firmware 7.X and up is automated for hybrid use, allowing for port 8080 LDAP on the Proxy page setting
  • For the Terminal Server deployment, create a group policy to proxy using Barracuda's IP as the server for NTLM and the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) for Kerberos and the port used you will use is 3128.
  • The rest of the workstations should not need any change in their configuration.

·         For the Terminal Server deployment, create a group policy to proxy using Barracuda's IP as the server for NTLM and the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) for Kerberos and the port used you will use is 3128.

Maybe to add note here for need to adjust DC agent details accordingly for TS use.
