How do I setup Virus Checking on my Barracuda Web Filter?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 9 years ago
Solution #00004434

Scope:
All Barracuda Web Filter models, all firmware versions.

Answer:

Use the BASIC > Virus Checking page to configure the virus scanning feature of the Barracuda Web Filter.
  • Enable Virus Protection - Check Yes to enable virus scanning. When virus scanning is enabled, the Barracuda Web Filter checks all traffic for viruses, and any detected viruses are blocked. Set to Yes by default.
  • Scanned MIME Types - Indicate MIME types for which virus scanning should be disabled. You can enter additional MIME types to be scanned using the text box and clicking the ADD button, and you can disable any MIME type from being scanned by clicking the Disable checkbox associated with that MIME type.
Additional Notes:
Only MIME types in the list on this page, including those you add, will be scanned for viruses. To DELETE a MIME type that has been added, click the trash can icon.
