Barracuda Yosemite Server Backup

How do I bind Yosemite Server Backup to a specific network interface card?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: one year ago

Solution #00004011

Scope:

Yosemite Server Backup, version 8.0 and above.

Answer:

Yosemite Server Backup only utilizes one IP address. By default Yosemite Server Backup binds to the first IP address found on the Master Server, and to the first IP address listed on best route on a Windows Client Machine. If Yosemite Server Backup is installed on a machine with two or more network cards it may be necessary to inform Yosemite Server Backup to bind to a specific IP address.

  1. Close the Yosemite Server Backup Administrator.
  2. Stop the Yosemite Server Backup Service. For details on starting / stopping the Yosemite Server Backup Service refer to Solution #00004025.
  3. Open the configuration file, ytconfig.ini, in a text editor. This file is located in the config folder in the root directory of the Yosemite Server Backup install path. This location may vary based on the operating system and version of Yosemite Server Backup. For details on the default installation path, refer to Solution #00004045
  4. Add a new line in the [configuration] section of the file that specifies the IP address of the local network interface that Yosemite Server Backup should be bound to.

    bindTo=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

  5. Save the file and close it.
  6. Start the Yosemite Server Backup Service.
  7. Launch the Yosemite Server Backup Administrator.
