  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: one year ago

Solution #00004022

Scope:

Yosemite Server Backup, version 8.5 and above.

Answer:

This solution describes the steps to restore data from a previous version of the Yosemite Server Backup catalog. This solution also assumes you have previously performed the steps in Solution #00004020, to recover a corrupt database which involved saving a copy of the corrupt catalog to restore data from it in the future.

  1. Close the Yosemite Server Backup Administrator.

  2. Stop the Yosemite Server Backup Service on the local machine. For details on starting / stopping the Yosemite Server Backup Service refer to Solution #00004025.

  3. Navigate to the Yosemite Server Backup directory and rename the database folder to database.<today's date>. For details on the Yosemite Server Backup default installation path refer to Solution #00004045.

  4. Locate the folder that contains the database version you want to restore from and rename the folder database.

  5. Start the Yosemite Server Backup Service on the local machine.

Now that the Yosemite Server Backup is pointing to the old version of the catalog you can restore your data as needed.
