Answer:
Requirements:
- Network connectivity to Data Vault share
- User logged in must have read access to Data Vault share
- User Control Policy must have the following set:
- Data Vault Policy - Allow user control
- Self-Service Recovery - Allow user control
- (User logged in much be included in allowed group)
Steps for version 3.0:
- Launch the Yosemite Desktop-Laptop Control panel.
- On the left click on "Data Vaults".
- Click on the "New" button to create a new Data Vault.
- Provide the Data Vault share UNC and click Ok.
- Note: This path is only to the root of the share not to the machine's folder.
- In this example it was (\\192.168.0.5\Backup\ )
- When you do so, a prompt will come up allowing you to specify which machine you will want to restore from. Choose the option "Recover data from selected machine".
- Highlight the machine you wish to restore from.
- Click OK, and then Click Ok on the next window.
- You will now see the new Data Vault listed, with the new Data Vault highlighted,
- Click on "Rescan Data Vault".
- Choose the "Full" option.
- Once the scan is complete select "Recover Data" on the left..
- Click on the "Refresh" button to refresh the page.
- You can now expand down and locate the folder you wish to restore from.
- Right click on that folder and choose the "Copy to" option.
- This will bring up a window that will allow you to specify where it will copy to.
- Highlight that location and hit Ok to perform the restore.
Steps for version 3.1 and newer:
- Launch the Yosemite Desktop-Laptop Control panel.
- On the left click on "Recover Data"
- Click on the "Recovery Data Vault" button and connect to the Data Vault you wish to restore from.
- Select the machine you wish to restore from in the list.
- Right click on that folder and choose the "Copy to" option.
This will bring up a window that will allow you to specify where it will copy to.
Notes:
If any errors were recorded, you can click the Show Errors link to view them. Otherwise, at this point your files are restored.
3.1 and newer:
If the machine shows up but doesn't show the files under it, a Full import may be required. This can be done from: Data Vaults > Import. Then select the Data Vault and choose Full.
