Barracuda SecureEdge Access combines connectivity and security to provide safe, reliable access to the Internet, cloud services, and private resources from any location or device. It delivers a consistent, location-independent experience as part of our SASE offering. The current SecureEdge Access Agent license allows connections to either Private Points of Presence (PoEs) or Points of Presence ( PoPs), as determined by the admin's use case. Note that SecureEdge DNS and Internet licenses connect only to SecureEdge Access PoPs, whereas the SecureEdge Premium Access license connects to both.
Barracuda SecureEdge Access offers four different access plans:
SecureEdge DNS Access
With this plan, local DNS policies apply on the agent, focusing on DNS filtering with a low barrier to entry. Ten seats for ZTNA are included, and the SecureEdge Reporting service is included for 7 days.
What SecureEdge DNS Access delivers:
SecureEdge DNS Access provides an affordable, low-maintenance solution to enforce web policies. It offers limited blocking of malicious domains and improves visibility into network-level web usage. DNS filtering features are provided for browser and Agent traffic, and the Reporting service is available for a limited time.
SecureEdge Private Access
This plan covers secure access with Zero Trust access and basic DNS filtering and ensures access to both public and private resources. All DNS filtering and ZTNA features are included. Note: This plan provides resource access only and does not include the full Secure Web Gateway (SWG). The SecureEdge Reporting service is available for 30 days by default. Note: Internal resources are always backhauled; SaaS resources can be backhauled via ZTNA policies using the “Security Inspection” toggle.
What SecureEdge Private Access delivers:
SecureEdge Private Access provides Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and lets users establish a secure connection from a remote location to the corporate network via Barracuda SecureEdge Access with a quick and easy configuration process. Basic DNS web filtering and the Reporting service are included.
SecureEdge Internet Access
This plan includes both web filtering with SSL/TLS Inspection for secure Internet access and full backhaul web security. An agent-based web security SaaS service with AI inspection is also provided. The SecureEdge Reporting service is available for 30 days by default.
What SecureEdge Internet Access delivers:
SecureEdge Internet Access offers a safer, more-consistent browsing experience through granular user- and device-based security measures along with the SecureEdge Reporting service. It utilizes an agent-based web-security SaaS solution that employs AI-driven content inspection to enhance Internet security. The service provides comprehensive inline inspection of all traffic, beyond just DNS requests, and includes capabilities for detecting and preventing advanced threats within TLS/SSL traffic.
SecureEdge Premium Access
This plan includes all features from the three plans (Internet Access, DNS Access, and Private Access) listed above. It includes Data Loss Prevention (DLP), DNS web filtering, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), AI-based content filtering, the Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Firewall as a Service (FWaaS), and the SecureEdge Reporting service for 30 days.
What SecureEdge Premium Access delivers:
SecureEdge Premium Access provides total endpoint network security, including Internet Access, Zero Trust Access, full backhaul web security, and reporting. Users gain secure and safe access to public and private resources.
